All-Makes Active Recalls Feature in Manager SE Enhances Safety and Service for Auto Repair Shops

By now, you may have noticed something extra when selecting customers’ vehicles in Manager SE. It’s Mitchell 1’s Active Recalls feature – a first-to-market solution that provides recall notification capability for the majority of vehicles sold in the United States.

This exclusive feature was recently expanded to all makes in our award-winning shop management software, making it quick and easy for Manager SE users to identify and address recalls for customers’ vehicles.

Once an active recall is identified, shops can share this with their customers in printed or electronic form. The shop gains additional credibility while customers gain further confidence in their service provider choice.

The Manager SE shop may also provide the option of taking the vehicle to the dealership on behalf of their customers. By performing this concierge function, repair shops will have the opportunity to shine – to demonstrate that are trusted partners in maintaining their customers’ vehicles with the help of extensive OEM information at their fingertips.

Shops will reinforce their commitment to safety and customer service, which builds trust and confidence in their shop. In return, customers will appreciate transparency and timely information regarding their vehicles.

Accessing the active recalls feature in Manager SE is as easy as 1-2-3, as demonstrated in this short video.

  • Select Customer & Vehicle
  • Navigate to Recalls Notification
  • Print or Share Electronically

Service advisors can view outstanding recalls by VIN when navigating to the Order screen. A notification will automatically display, highlighting the number of outstanding recalls. The specific details can be printed, shared electronically and/or included as a note in the customer invoice.

Once the dealer updates the OEM recalls database, per specific customer VIN, the Open Recalls feature will be updated automatically. This typically occurs in less than 2 weeks, often just a few days.

This cutting-edge solution builds on Manager SE’s active recalls feature that was previously limited to a few automotive brands. Initially, the active recall feature covered only a few makes, However, due to overwhelming demand and positive feedback, Mitchell 1 expanded the service.
